Compiled and mixed by Beauty and the Beat
In celebration of the 11th edition of the magical Waldfrieden Wonderland Festival comes a mixed compilation from 2 of its brightest stars on the dance floor. For the 2nd year, the DJ team of Beauty and the Beat has gone to great efforts to capture the spirit of the festival. Meticulously compiled and expertly mixed, Wonderland 2007 will impart the entrancing charm of this unique musical celebration and give the listener something to remember until the next year comes.
Since first playing together in 2004, the husband and wife team of Beauty and the Beat has quickly left their mark on global dance floors, with a busy touring schedule taking them from Australia to Bali and beyond. The year 2007 also saw them taking a huge step forward into the realm of production with their first releases ready to storm the floors.
No strangers to working dancers across the globe, this production and DJ team of Sally Doolally and Goetzlich comprises more than 2 decades of DJ-ing and production experience. Sally is a long-time successful world-touring DJ, with nearly 10 years of professional experience immersing audiences in her cornucopia of sound. With his hands on the decks and in the studio for more than a decade, Goetzlich has a long history of moving floors throughout Germany and worldwide.
Encompassing flavors of progressive-trance, tech-house and electro, Wonderland 2007 contains 11 hot tracks which will leave the listener hardly able to sit still in their seat. Blending some of the most moving tracks of today with a peek of top tracks to come in the near future, this expertly selected and mixed jaunt through rhythm and sound crafts a sonic journey fitting of event from which it draws its inspiration.
Opening with a future classic remix from German fixtures D-Nox and Beckers of Visionary's 'Inside Out', the phenomenally emotional reworking of Oliver Moldan's 'Baby Show Up' by Israel's Elegant Universe imparts an immediate and appropriate depth to the mix. Continuing the journey through sound, the mix sees influences from across the globe from South Africa's Sentrafuge, to France's up and coming D.Sens and even a taste of Canada's best in Shiloh. Never losing its sense for capturing the best moments of dance floor, Beauty and the Beat keep the groove factor high with an additional pair of tracks from the studio of D-Nox and Beckers as well as a classic re-working of Deep Forest's classic 'Sweet Lullaby' by Peter Gun.
Sally and Goetzlich give a preview of things to come from their own studio with the bass-heavy 'Local Hero' produced in collaboration with Nik Bohn aka Nuke. Keeping a firm hold on the listener until the last second, the most striking moments are appropriately saved for the close with the delightfully playful and melodically-warped 'Cafe Del Mariachi' from now-renowned Morel brothers, aka Shiloh.
For those who may have missed the Wonderland festival or would love to re-live a few of its brightest moments, Wonderland 2007 will give a peek into the energy and feeling that was left on the dance floor, and provide a bit of anticipation for what's to come in future years.
