...mix CD, (both released in 2006), Get Physical co-founder DJ T. aka Thomas Koch releases his long awaited first solo-12' taken from his
forthcoming album, expected in the summer of 2007 (or you could say) this summer. (as we know its 2007!) 'Lucky Bastard' jacks freshly along to the sound of a
cut up vocal, glitchy percussion and deep building chords.
With the fusion of futuristic and classic elements is these are all welded together by a soaring bassline. Berlin's Prosumer aka Achim
Brandenburg, - (Germany's finest grail-keeper of the orginal Chicago-sound), takes the track to a deeper area. As the brooding riff and spiralling acid lines
come to the fore, his unique use of rhythms and hissing percussion are jacking which take it to another level.
Finally, T.'s own 'Disaster Dub' takes 'Lucky Bastard' into a direction, where the 'Bastard' isn't sounding that lucky anymore. It's like a coming together
of the dark side of Chicago and Detroit, . The tight metallic drums, shuffle towards a series of chord-driven breakdowns. This dub version tips the original
track into a much harder and dramatic parallel universe.
