US producer in Berlin Jay Haze saddles up his trusty Fuckpony steed once again...
...to go on a journey through the moodier end of house and techno music.
'Dark Side Part 2' is dance music with a raw, old school attitude but with all the benefits of modern production.
'Flower' takes inspiration from 90s techno, with dark, Detroit-style chords swarming into attack formation and setting a moody tone. However, rather than
bludgeoning the listener into submission, the Berlin pimp keeps the groove pumping and the beats bumping, so that the track will appeal to the clubbers as
well as techno specialists.
'Cold Slave' meanwhile, sees Jay take inspiration from acid trax and house music's unifying philosophy. Over a tweaky, freaked out 303 riff, a man talks
about the essence of the groove, the importance of being at one with the music.
