If you're looking for a sound that encompasses the past, present and future of house, here it is.
'It's Only Music' is the latest single taken from Fuckpony's debut album for Get Physical, 'Children Of Love'. Although it has a modest title,
the release sees Samim and Jay Haze sharing their deep love of house music with the listener.
While the title track benefits from modern electronic production, it also looks back to classic house music, with dramatic, uplifting strings. With it's
message, Samim and Jay have captured one of house music's central tenets -that it is open to everyone around the world, regardless of colour or creed.
Next up is 'Body Movement', which communicates a similar message, that people should enjoy the music out on the dance floor, but this time the duo look to
classic deep house, with the sweet, jazzy sounds set to the contemporary, shuffling steely drums of Berlin.
Finally, the Fuckpony guys go in a more techno oriented direction for 'Touch Me'. Stripped back, metallic rhythms morph to reveal scary riffs and moody
bass licks. If 'It's Only Music' and 'Body Movement' are all about the unifying force of house music, then this is its seedy underbelly and showcases
Fuckpony's darker sound.
