Bastards Of Funk and Sonic Union are a true transatlantic collective.
With the former half being talented Swedish producer Daniel Sandberg, whilst the latter is comprised of Neil Barber from the UK, Tyler Johnson
from Canada and another Swede enigmatically named Ike. Previously the collective have appeared on Canada's Powerplant Music, and now deliver a follow up
entitled 'Your Own Game' for another Canadian label, Aurium Recordings.
The original version is a superb upbeat progressvive house cut, a satisfyingly energetic bassline underpinning layer upon layer of subtle keys and
melodies, topped off by a wicked top line and vocal lead. A steady pace and tempo adds much to the addictive nature of the track, with a cool atmospheric
twist in the latter half keeping things fresh. The remix by comparison is much tougher, travelling in an electro inspired direction, shifting the focus away
from the main lead of the original and instead being all about a deep sub bass groove and big snare percussion.
Whilst the original was more of a mid set track, this remix is aimed squarely at the peaktime, though lacks the overall polish of it's counterpart.
