Syncrosect is a collaboration between trance musician Mr Peculiar and visual artist THE Shapeshifter. The idea of Syncrosect is to visually capture the
vibrant energy and rich atmospheres of trance music. The system used to achieve this involves separating out individual sounds and creating animations to
match. The animation loops are then composited and sequenced to precisely match the audio.
Live Syncrosect was created to provide unique audio-visual performances. Since virtually every sound in the tracks was animated and sequenced in the studio
the viewer experiences a level of synchronization much more precise than any VJ technique to date.
Syncrosect use DVDjs to mix the tracks similar to the way djs and producers use CDjs. By mixing DVD discs the quality of the visuals are far higher than
what can be achieved using software mixers or videocassette. DVD audio is also higher quality than CD.
The animation was created in 16:9 widescreen format for maximum cinematic effect.
