The debut album by the Electric Penguins...
...'Goodbye From The Electric Penguins' was a simple idea to make a modern record using only 70's instruments sounds.
No fancy programming, no surround sound, no cut n paste, just three guys in a studio doing it old skool with Moogs, Mellotrons, Farfisa organs and guitars.
The end result is an impressive blend of melodic invention and musicianship, apart from a basic step sequencer and mono drum box, all instruments were
played live.
From the opening 'Gelb' with it's piano in an empty room vibe to the closer 'Too Far' with an aching vocal reminiscent of Sigur Ross, G.F.T.E.P. is a
seamless musical tour de force which will be essential listening for anyone who is into Eno, Pink Floyd, Kraftwerk, Sigur Ross, Flaming Lips etc.
Style: Ambient
Released: Sep. 2006/39
