Aphonix records is a continuation (sub label) of the swiss-event-organisation werkraum infx records, which has been founded by George Castelberg.

George Castelberg got himself infected by the goa-trance virus in 1995, after his first experience with the street parade in Zurich. After that he absolutely had to buy an atari st24 and so he could start to make his own productions, although in a really basic and minimal way. Since then our guest room has slowly been converted to a high tech workstation. We even have more visitors then before... in 1996 the cult place Goa was in sight. Good connections could be made over there, which influenced and encouraged the further progress of the music production.

In the year 2000 definitively was established the first party-label under the name Werkraum I.N.F.X. Records. It was owing to roberto bonagura, that their first party place (Viamala, Camping Rania) could be found. As a long year old friend of the 'Family' he was involved with infx records from the right beginning.

With his excellent music and scene know-how he always leaded to and maintained the best contacts. The parties at viamala (graubunden), at sur-en (engadin/graubunden) and in the locations x-tra in zurich and truempler-areal in uster had all been realised in cooperation with Lucerne's party-label Akascha, where Roland Mackert's roots are. The wide experience gathered in the last few years and the long lasting good teamwork had leaded to this fusion to Aphonix Records.
